Win contest and see Jazz from press row

Come join Jazz beat writer Tim Buckley on press row when Utah takes on the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday, Jan. 10.

If you are an amateur writer, age 18 or older, enter the Deseret Morning News' "Cover A Game Contest." The winner will cover the game from press row as a guest of the Deseret Morning News, and his or her story will be published in the paper the next day. The winner also will have dinner in the press room, share insights with KFNZ 1320 AM personalities, have a picture taken with a Jazz player and receive two VIP tickets for guests.

To enter, submit a sample sports story about any basketball game you watch on TV or in person. Stories should be no longer than 600 words and will be judged on detail, writing style, humor, conciseness and clarity.

Enter by fax or e-mail before 5 p.m., Monday, Jan. 5, 2004, to Cover A Jazz Game Contest at fax number 801-237-2528 or e-mail: johnson@desnews.com. Please include your name, address, e-mail, daytime and evening telephone numbers.

The winner will be announced in the Deseret Morning News on Thursday, Jan. 8. A second-place winner will receive a Club Suite Night for eight people to an upcoming regular season Jazz game. Ten third-place winners will receive Utah Jazz ball caps.
