We represent a group of 28 West High students who were able to participate in a job internship program last summer. The program was run in partnership with Mayor Rocky Anderson's YouthCity Employment Program.

We all worked in different places such as the federal court, Kid Care Co., the Humane Society, Gastronomy, All About Pets, the Children's Museum, the Salt Lake School District, Icon Consulting Group, Kim's Academy, Liberty Bank and the Northwest Multipurpose Center. We want to thank Mayor Anderson for the opportunity we had to get work experience, and for the stipends we received for successfully completing the program.

We hope that the YouthCity Employment Program does not get cut, because the internships we did last summer will help us get jobs when we are old enough to work, and we want other students to have the opportunity to participate is such a worthwhile program.
