DALLAS (AP) — A Texas jury has convicted a man of capital murder in the stabbing deaths of his wife and her two young sons.

Robert Sparks of Dallas was found guilty Thursday in the deaths of Chare Agnew, and her sons, Raeqwon Agnew and Harold Sublet.

A lawyer for Sparks says there was never any doubt Sparks fatally stabbed his family in 2007. He plans to argue Monday to have the sentence reduced to life in prison.

Sparks had said in a 911 call after the murders that he killed Agnew, 10-year-old Raeqwon and 9-year-old Harold. He also said he had tied up his two teenage stepdaughters and left them in a closet.

Authorities later said he raped the two girls.
