POCATELLO — With four players scoring double figures and behind another outstanding shooting game, the BYU Cougars defeated the Idaho State Bengals 85-65 Saturday night.

After going 0-11 from the floor in BYU's last game, junior forward Jonathan Tavernari hit 10-17 shots against the Bengals and scored a game-high 23. Jimmer Fredette added 19, Lee Cummard 17 and Jackson Emery 15.

The Cougars used two big first-half runs, one an 11-0 run and the other a 14-0 run, to take charge. After two straight baskets by Tavernari gave BYU a 17-12 lead the Cougars never trailed again and took a 12-point halftime lead. The closest the Bengals got again was 11 points. The Cougars are now 6-0 on the season and play next at Weber State on Wednesday.
