Utah Jazz shorthanded again tonight for contest with Bulls
Carlos Boozer (strained left quad), Kyle Korver (inflamed right wrist) and Jarron Collins (inflamed right elbow) will not play again, the team announced at shootaround. Though officially listed as "doubtful," Deron Williams also said he won't try to comeback from his severely sprained left ankle injury against the Bulls, either.
"We're still pretty much the same as we were, looks like this morning," said Jazz coach Jerry Sloan.
Williams said he "hopefully" will be able to play Wednesday night, when the Jazz face the Grizzlies on the second game of their current four-game homestand.
"Wednesday's what I'm shooting for," Williams said this morning. "Hopefully I get a practice in tomorrow, see how it feels and go from there."
Though Boozer is a no-go tonight, a Jazz spokesperson said he is "out but improving."
Korver, on the other hand, is getting a different MRI test on his right wrist to examine that injury.
As for tonight's opponent for 9-5 Utah, Sloan calls the 6-8 Bulls "young and athletic." They lost Sunday night in Denver and will be without Kirk Hinrich (torn ulnar collateral ligament) and Michael Ruffin (sprained left ankle). Drew Gooden (right ankle sprain) and Derrick Rose (right hip bruise) are listed by the team as "probable," with Luol Deng (left hamstring sprain) being called "questionable" for action tonight.
