From Deseret News archives:
Door at LDS church vandalized in Sandy
As of Tuesday afternoon, however, investigators had been unable to talk to the person who made the report.
Detectives were called about 8:30 p.m. Monday to an LDS church near 11600 S. Wasatch Blvd., said Sandy police Sgt. Justin Chapman. A janitor called to say the front glass door was broken, he said.
But by the time officers arrived, the janitor was already gone. Despite numerous calls to his phone, detectives had been unable to get in touch with him.
From inspecting the broken glass door, Chapman said it appeared the glass was shot with either a BB or a pellet from an Air Soft gun, he said.
The vandalism brings the total number of incidents at LDS churches this week to seven. Two others were in Weber County and four were in Layton. The incidents were first reported Sunday.
There was no word Tuesday if any of the incidents were related.
