BYU basketball: Cougars cruise to exhibition victory

PROVO — The BYU Cougars won their second exhibition game Tuesday night by routing the Georgetown College Tigers 80-53.

Leading the way for BYU was sophomore guard Jackson Emery, who scored 16 points, including 4-of-6 from 3-point range. Emery also had six assists and two steals.

Jonathan Tavernari added 15 points and eight rebounds, with freshman Charles Abouo coming off the bench to pop in 11. Lee Cummard was the fourth Cougar in double figures with 11 points.

For the game, BYU made 11-of-23 shots from behind the 3-point arc.
