Utah Utes basketball: Utes open things up with tough exhibition foe

However, Boylen says he is thrilled by the success of the football program, that it's "great" and that it "helps us," in recruiting and getting Utah's name out there.
Boylen was on hand for Thursday night's win over TCU and he energized the crowd at halftime with one of his speeches. The Ute basketball players also lined up on the field and were introduced as a group.
UTE NOTES: The official season-opener is Nov. 15 against Southwest Baptist at 2 p.m. After that, the Utes will play Wisconsin-Green Bay on Nov. 18 before going to Florida for a pair of games in the Glen Wilkes Classic against Mississippi and Morgan State. ... Today's game will also mark the debut of two new Ute assistant coaches, Barret Peery and Stan Johnson. ... Freshman guard Chris Hines, who has been out since August with an ankle injury, has started practicing but is expected to redshirt this season.
