SANDY — Fire authorities were happy to report no people were injured, or poultry fried, when an abandoned chicken coop caught fire earlier Tuesday.

Don Rosenkrantz, assistant chief of Sandy Fire Department, said they received reports of the blaze at an abandoned chicken coop near 240 W. 9400. Fire units from West Jordan, South Jordan and Sandy responded to the fire and doused it.

Rosenkrantz said they have not yet determined the cause of the blaze. The coop and a mobile home on the property were slated to be demolished.
